What is MUD?
The Metropolitan Underwriting Discussion Group (MUD) is a volunteer-run organization based in New York City. Since 1971, we’ve brought together professionals from across the insurance space for open conversation, knowledge-sharing, and community engagement.
Who attends MUD events?
MUD events are designed for professionals in the insurance industry. Whether you’re early in your career or part of senior leadership, you’ll be in good company.
When and where is the next MUD Conference?
The 54th Annual MUD Conference will take place from January 25–27, 2026, in New York City at the Westin New York at Times Square.

How do I register?
You can purchase tickets directly through our registration page. Early registration is recommended as space is limited.
I need to make modifications to my hotel reservation after booking, who do I contact?
For any information regarding availability, room block pricing, and/or if there is a need for a room modification or cancellation, please contact The Westin at Times Square at +1 (212) 201-2700.
What is your refund policy?
If the request for a full refund is more than 30 days prior to our event, we are more than happy to refund or offer a replacement with another attendee.
If the request comes within the 30-day window of our event, unfortunately, we are unable to provide a registration refund. We do, however, have options if chosen! If you would like to replace this registration with another attendee, we are happy to accommodate that request or apply for a credit for our next annual conference. Please email mud@mudgroup.org for further discussions.
I’m interested in speaking. Who should I contact?
We welcome speaker suggestions from across the industry for our conferences. The Program Committee starts to craft the program/agenda in June of each year for the next year conference in January. If you have a proposed topic or would like to recommend a speaker, email us at mud@mudgroup.org for the upcoming year conference.
Can my company sponsor the conference?
Yes! We offer several sponsorship opportunities with options for visibility, engagement, and presence at the event. Full details are available on our “Become a Sponsor” page, or please contact sponsorship@mudgroup.org.
Can my company participate in the Service Provider Expo?
Yes! As part of our sponsorship opportunities, your company is also able to participate in the Expo. Refer to the “Become a Sponsor” page for further details
I’m with a startup or new company, can we participate?
Definitely. MUD is designed to be cross-generational and cross-industry focused. We encourage start-ups and new companies to attend, connect, and contribute!
Is the venue accessible?
Yes. Our venue is fully accessible. If you have specific needs, email us in advance and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
